Dear All,
Thank you all for the email responses to my last communication with regard to the restarting of league tennis. We have discussed the situation at our last committee meeting and are proposing the following:
- All Summer 2020 Leagues will be postponed until 2021.
- The Winter league 2020/21 will be postponed until 2021/22.
Therefore, this protects all teams’ current standings in these leagues and there will be no promotion or relegation.
There was a large proportion of clubs that would like to participate in league tennis when the restrictions allow. Therefore, we will start to plan for one-off leagues to cover the period up to the start of the Summer 2021 season. The restrictions will obviously need to be lifted considerably to allow this and therefore it is not likely to start before End of August/September. This will also allow us time to plan the leagues and formulate fixtures.
We are proposing to run Men’s, Ladies and Mixed leagues which will all be 2 couple matches. They will be played on Saturdays (Men’s & Mixed) and Thursday Evening (Ladies).
If I could have an indication of the number teams you would like to enter and an indication of the standard of teams (i.e. which league they play in normally). If there is no secondary venue stated, we will assume that you can play all home matches on home courts.
